Darren's Opinion

In my opinion, the internet has enriched my life, it has not only expanded my horizons but has allowed me to keep in more regular contact with freinds and associates alike. This is because it is generally easy to use and instantly accessible, all that I need is an internet connection and I am able to talk to others, provided that they are online and willing to talk.

The most common features that I use are instant messaging services like MSN Messenger and email services. These services save the difficulty of having to phone friends up and interrupting them, or to spend the time arranging a meeting with them. It also allows me to speak to others no matter where they are, they can even be in another country and talk online.

I do believe there are dangers of online communication, making friends through internet communication alone can be risky, the person they portray online may not be the real article. They may also have sinister purposes, fortunately however they can not affect you directly so its not that large a problem. Also when sending emails problems can occur, such as sending an email to the wrong person or even mailing multiple people when when you havent meant to. There is also no guarantee that an email will be read by the recipient. Sometimes the Internet is not always the most useful way of contacting people.

Personally I believe that the internet has brought me many great services that I would otherwise not have, I am thankful for the benefits that it has brought me, it has made communication much easier, more adaptable and can make it more personal since communication barriers are not always present when speaking online.

I believe that many other people will agree with the points that i have made above,
I sincerely hope that they have been helped by the internet as much as I have been.
